To effectively ensure the company's safe production and improve the fire safety awareness, safety prevention, and self-rescue capabilities of all employees, on April 17, the company's safety and environmental protection department organized the volunteer fire brigade and the wastewater treatment plant to conduct a fire drill on the "Emergency Plan for Sudden Environmental Events" and the "Emergency Plan for Leakage Accidents of Waste Mineral Oil in Hazardous Waste Warehouses".
Combining the company's actual situation, before the drill, the safety and environmental protection department developed a drill plan, clarifying the responsibilities and requirements of each participant. Safety officer Yu Bailu gave a detailed explanation of the key points, difficulties, and precautions of the drill plan to all participants before the start, ensuring that the drill's purpose was clear, the process controllable, and the expected goals achievable.
During the drill, all participants strictly followed the corresponding drill plan, listened to commands, clarified their responsibilities, maintained high attention, and knew what to do next even in a noisy environment, completing each task in an orderly manner. After the scheduled items, to consolidate the achievements of the "Various Forms of Fire Fighting Team Business Skills Competition" held in Xinchang County last year, the volunteer firefighters also voluntarily requested additional training. Following the competition requirements, they were divided into groups of four, with a mix of new and veteran members. Each person practiced "Initial fire control operations using fire extinguishers and water guns" twice, aiming for greater improvement in practical fire drill skills. Finally, under the leadership of Captain Wang Yuanhui, all volunteer firefighters conducted a 15km cross-country run, improving physical fitness and team cohesion.
After the drill, the safety officer summarized and commented on the drill, affirming both drills, particularly the seriousness with which each member treated the drills as real emergencies, and commending their self-discipline, enthusiasm, and rigorous attitude. While completing their own duties, members also shared the tasks of their teammates, demonstrating the teamwork expected of a fire team. The successful completion of both drills was due to the collective participation and cooperation of everyone. However, there were also shortcomings. Because new members joined the volunteer fire brigade this year, and this was the first drill of the year, new members lacked sufficient proficiency in using fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, and other equipment, and coordination between new and veteran members needs improvement. Further training is necessary.
The fire drill not only tested the feasibility and operability of the fire emergency plan but also allowed all volunteer firefighters to familiarize themselves with the emergency rescue process and strengthen their teamwork awareness. Remaining true to our original aspirations and remembering our mission, we believe that with this intensity of fire drills, this fire brigade will continue to bear the heavy responsibility of the company's fire safety and ensure the company's safe development.
